I have tried to replace the receiver on a truck which has been working correctly for some time. Fitted with a SFR-1. The original rx was a Radiolink R12DS. I am moving to the FrSky X18. The new rx is a Access protocol M+ 16 channel SBus model. A simple swap, but the SFR1 on start up acts very erratically, moving the steering, playing intermittent sounds, flashing lights at random etc. In short, uncontrollable.
In ST, I have reset the SBus assignments to completely blank and the SFR1 happily runs my engine sound start up function. As soon as I assign a channel on the SBus tab and update (via KUSB) the unit becomes very erratic, as described.
Info: FrSky X18 running 2.4Ghz band. The rx is bound correctly and leds confirm this / signal strength shows on tx display. Only three wires from the rx: +/- and S Bus out. Connected to X2/6 and activated in ST (version 1.40).
Given the truck had been working fine before the attempted rx change, it's reasonable to assume the new rx isn't working as it should. I have no way of testing the SBus output unfortunately. I suspect the SBus signal is corrupt.
My question is; have you heard of or experienced anything like this before? Having fitted over 30 SFR-1s it's a first for me!

Hello Colin,
you can use the diagnosis to observe the incoming signal on each prop channel where you have assigned a SBUS channel. If the receiver's output is erratic you should see this there. If it's erratic change the receiver, if necessary to a different model.

have you set SBus16 under receiver settings?
FrSky receivers are set to SBus24 by default

I have the exact same issue. I originally installed a Radiolink 12DS in my truck, without any issues. I recently upgraded to a Radiolink T16D. Now, when I flip the power switch on the Sfr1, my steering goes hard over to the right, lights flashing, and other options, that are programmed. After turning the pwr switch on/off several times, eventually, the unit works properly. I switched because I needed the extra channels. Now, I am thinking of going back to my basic PL18.
