Red LED flashing consistently?
Red LED flashing consistently?
hi,
One of the functions on my sound module is not working as it used to, i have a fan setup on the switching output x3/10 and it was setup so the fan speed would match the motor speed when accelerating etc (its for a smoke effect unit) but now the fan does not work at all. The fan is ok as when i connect it to a seperate battery it works with no problems. The fans posotive connector is also connected to same terminal as another fan im using and that works ok so its not the power from the module, so it seems to be something to do with the X3 switching outputs?
But this red LED is flashing constantly, the Blue & Green LED are always on ?
Any ideas?
Thanks

Re: Red LED flashing consistently?
Hello,
green just means there is power input to the module, so that's ok.
Red flashing and blue permanently on indicates a problem with the SD card. Try formatting the card (make sure you have a copy of the project on your PC first) and save the project again to the card. If that does not help try another SD card.
If that doesn't work either the module might be faulty. Do the fans have a flyback diode or did you install one for each fan output?

Re: Red LED flashing consistently?
thanks for reply!
ok did that, the red flashing light went off then just the blue/green on which is normal!
, however the fan still wasn't working, so i changed the terminal that the fan was plugged into on the module from x3/10 to x3/8 & the fan is now working as it was before! so it seems that the x3/10 terminal on the module is dead for some reason?
What i did notice though is the only thing different from when i last used this as its been standing for a few months was a firmware update! so it seems the latest firmware update has disabled the x3/10 on the module for some reason ?

Re: Red LED flashing consistently?
Green permanently on is normal, blue flashing indicates a Nautic/Multiswitch or sum signal.
If the blue LED is permanently on than that's not normal (which normally happens only when the red is flashing).
Can you do some test using a multimeter set to DC voltage? Red test lead to battery plus, black to output 10.What i did notice though is the only thing different from when i last used this as its been standing for a few months was a firmware update! so it seems the latest firmware update has disabled the x3/10 on the module for some reason ?
- Output 10 is switched off (output not triggered via transmitter). What is the voltage reading?
- Output 10 is switched on (output triggered via transmitter). What is the voltage reading?
I will do some quick test in the meantime to see if there is an issue with the new firmware related to the outputs.
Re: Red LED flashing consistently?
I did a test with FW 1.90b
- using the diagnosis of the Sound-Teacher
- controlling the module's functions via Sound-Teacher
- using RC transmitter
Re: Red LED flashing consistently?
yup Blue LED is off only the green one is on, my bad!!
Hmm weird that its ok your end, no idea then why 10 isnt working on mine, like i say it was then just stopped after i did update
but its no biggy as im just using another channel wont bother trying to use 10 in future.
Another problem ive found (not sure if it is something ive done though!)
Its to do with sounds, i had a horn that had 3 separate files for Start/Loop & End. Used to work fine as i had it setup to the right stick on my TX so when i pushed forward it would start the sound etc, but i cant get this to work no more, in the Additional Sounds menu its showing uhorn_schleife.wav when i select this in Configuration/Inputs then upload it there's no sound for it at all?

Re: Red LED flashing consistently?
seems this firmware update has messed up my files a little, everything was working good until i did the "update"
Re: Red LED flashing consistently?
Can you do the measurements? Then we can figure out if the output is broken or not.
Don't understand your description here, inputs are not triggered via the transmitter. Instead you need to apply minus to the input to trigger the function assigned to that input. Its to do with sounds, i had a horn that had 3 separate files for Start/Loop & End. So do you mean to say you are using the input for testing, or are you confusing inputs with prop channels?
