Hi,
i purchased this clamp to attach wires to but I'm having an hard time inserting the wires to the clamps!?
on my RC-2 I'm using 18awg wire which fits the clamps no probs, but on the AKL-10 18awg and even 20 awg don't seem to fit!? are the clamps on the AKL-10 smaller than on the RC-2!?
i need to use 18 awg the same as i use on the RC-2!?
Terminal clamp for switching outputs AKL-10
Re: Terminal clamp for switching outputs AKL-10
Hello,
the clamps are indeed different, you should be able to visually distinguish them (different size and color).
The clamp on the USM can fit cables up to 1,5mm² (somewhere between AWG16 and 15), the clamp on the AKL only up to 0,5mm², so AWG20 should still fit. Remove the insulation about 7-8mm and tin the wires preferrably.

ok thanks, what's the max current awg 20 wire can handle?
Re: Terminal clamp for switching outputs AKL-10
At least 6 amps; exact value depends on cable resistance, length and temperature.
In any case it's more than one output of the USM is rated for.
