No sound , driving and steering works

Hello all,

I am new to beier electronics.
I just purchased a usm-rc3 and connected it to a futaba r2008sb receiver with a futaba 10px remote on my traxxas trx4.
i have connected the throttle of my receiver to prop 1 1e and 2e to esc (castle copperhead). did the same for the steering servo to prop 2.
I have loaded the sounds and set the config to didgital.
saved it to the sd card .
car is working but no sound is coming out of the speaker(wich i connected)

Can anybody give me some help because i cannot see what i forgot or what setting i need to change ..

Change the "Direct volume control". Prop #1 makes no sense here.

Otherwise your project file looks fine. Normally, the engine sound should turn on when you move the throttle stick.

Please record a diagnosis (with data cable or on SD card) while you try to turn on the sound. Then upload the diagnosis file here.

Hello Jos,

I suggest to remove the functions "Engine sound rpm change" from Prop #2 as well since Prop #2 is used for steering.
Furthermore a function would normally be assigned to one column only, not all.

"Engine sound on/off" under Prop #3 does not make much sense either if "Turn on engine sound automatically by motion" is selected.

As I can see in the diagnostics, do you now have prop #3 in "Direct volume control"? And that is apparently a 2 position switch? That doesn't make much sense either.

But the sound was turned on and switched (by the switch on prop #3) from 7% volume to 97% at 13.2s. At 17.5 s back to 7% volume. So you should definitely have heard something during this time.

But i did not hear anything coming out of the speaker ??
is the board vaulty or ??

Did you solder the speaker wire correctly to the speaker?

Maybe try a different speaker.

A defect in the amplifier is very rare with the USM-RC-3. I think we only had one case.

But if all do not help, you would either have to send the module to us or to your dealer for checking.

Please also check:

- Speaker is connected to "Loudspeaker" (white connector) not "Vol." (brown connector)
- If there is a volume control potentiometer attached to "Vol." check the position of the knob, or remove the potentiometer for testing
