Indicators - Feature Question - Request

Beitrag von MattMPA »

The indicators/turn signals. I understand that can be set to only work after a particular % of steering input.

Is there a way to make them NOT work under a given speed? If it's there...I can't find it. Would be nice if they didn't work when make turns to hook up to a trailer, for an example.

Or a way to turn the indicator function on or off when you'd rather not have them function...perhaps with a radio's switch?

Thanks

Hello Matt,

there is no setting for a speed-dependent indicator function. That would be difficult to do since the module couldn't know if you are actually trying to hook up a trailer or just making a slow turn at a 'street junction'. Neither is there a function to supress the indicators temporarily.

The easiest solution is to activate the indicators manually only via the "Indicator left/right" function using a 3-way switch or stick, which happens to be more realistic, too. You can choose to switch them off manually or automatically after a certain amount of flashes (see Output options).

Alternatively check if your transmitter has switchable mixers, but it requires an additional Prop channel between receiver and module:
Normally the signal of the steering channel is send to Prop #2 but also mixed to the additional channel (e.g. connected to Prop #5) which triggers the "Indicator left/right" functions instead of using the option "Automatic indicator lights when turning". When the mixer is disabled via a switch at the transmitter the steering signal only goes to Prop #2 but not Prop #5 anymore, thus the indicator functions will not be activated while turning.
