ESC via SM-IR-16 from SFR-1
ESC via SM-IR-16 from SFR-1
Good day,
can someone please advice me how to connect and CTI ESC ( for the cylinders of the ramp of my trailer) to the SM-IR-16 via the SFR-1.
At this moment in the sound teacher, I activate Servo 1, in the servo outputs, "direct servo control with Prop#6", and in SM-IR-16-2 servo1+2 , I activate servo 1, with " direct servo control with prop#6" ( see attached files) I connect my receiver with servo cable into prop#6 on the SFR-1 and I put the CTI ESC into the servo1 (X5/1) connection on the SM-IR-16-2.
I took the + cable out of the CTI ESC plug, this get his power direct from battery.
but it will not work.
What do I incorrect??

Re: ESC via SM-IR-16 from SFR-1
Hello Ramon,
actually this is how it should work...
Please record a diagnosis with the data cable or on an SD card (see manual page 90) and upload the diagnosis here.

Re: ESC via SM-IR-16 from SFR-1
Hello,
which CTI ESC exactly are you using?
I am not clear why you configure "Servo 1" for direct control with Prop #6, too, when the ESC is connected to the SM-IR-16-2?
Normally this is not necessary unless you want both servo outputs to run synchronously.
You can however use to test the connection between transmitter, receiver and SFR-1, i.e. just connect a standard servo to SFR-1 X5/1 - does that servo turn when you move the stick corresponding to Prop #6?
If that works connect the servo to the SM-IR-16-2 and repeat. If that also works the problem is with the ESC.
I also suggest to upgrade the Sound-Teacher to the latest version (File > Check now manually for updates).

Re: ESC via SM-IR-16 from SFR-1
Sorry guys,
But I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I don't get the servo ESC( CTI Titan+) to work. I even activated the servo 1 on the FSR-1 but no movement. I use a servo to test but no movement.
I checked the channel on my receiver but that's ok I got movement from that.
I checked the ESC separately no problem works fine.
all the other functions are working also with the SM-IR-16
I quiet frustrated spend hours on trying but no result.
I attached the recorder diagnostic and the settings in the sound teacher.
Can you please help me.
greetings
Ramon

Re: ESC via SM-IR-16 from SFR-1
You have activated the sum signal SUMD on X2/6. But no channel was assigned to Prop #6 (or all other channels)
So either deactivate the sum signal on X2/6 - or assign useful channels to the prop channels (if you really have a receiver that supports SUMD).

Re: ESC via SM-IR-16 from SFR-1
Hi,
the Titan ESCs have a built-in BEC, therefore please remember to remove/insulate the red wire from the servo cable connected to the SM-IR-16-2 servo output X5/1. Else damage may occur!
First use a servo to test after correcting the configuration (see the post from Andy), only if that works try the ESC.

Re: ESC via SM-IR-16 from SFR-1
Thanks for the quick reply.
I will change that in the settings and let you know.
I also will take out the red wire from the esc.
fingers crossed this will work.
thanks
Ramon

Re: ESC via SM-IR-16 from SFR-1
It is working, I’m a happy main but my mate who owns the truck trailer combination is stoked, he cannot believe all the functions on his truck.
Thanks for your service.
