Light modul

Beitrag von bluepass »

hello, i wondered if it is posible to make an lightmodul like the one in USM-RC-2

the 12 output is not enogh for my truck

my conf now

1: brake light
2: parking light
3: low beam headlight
4: high beam headlight
5: reverse light
6: roof bar
7: daytime runing lights
8: indicator right
9: indicator left
10: Front fog lights
11 : Rear fog lights
12 : work light

i want 4(alternative 2) more output that i can program (output sequence) as flashing light i the front and rear.

in the program it can be set ut like EKMFA mode 2, output 2 and output sequence 3 and 4

it hade been cool if you make an light modul whit the same funksjon as the light system in the USM-RC-2 just whitout the sound modul

mayby i am way out now, but i figur it`s no harm in asking :)

Hello bluepass,

for the features you want you don't need any sound- oder lightmodule, I suppose. All you need ist a RC-equiment with enough transmission channels to fit your requestions. Then you can use simple switch modules like the RC-SM2 straight with the receiver. A complex module like the -RC2 is only needed to fit the light show with sounds too and / or generate sounds without light.

Hello bluepass,

sorry, but we have no English manual for the RC-SM-2.

Currently there is no development of such a light module planned.

Well, this is a very simple module, which binds 2 electronic switches to one RC-channel. Therefore you can switch 2 independent LEDs with one module, one transmission-channel and one 2-way-switch at the transmitter. The switching can be either static or momentarily. The wiring diagrams of the german manual (downloadable in the service area) help you to connect your components together.

I'm sure that you will get help here for any question according to the handling of this module when you will try it.

Please note the maximum current of this module. In doubt use the "H"-version which can handle ten times more current as the normal version; see technical data.

If bluepass wants flashing lights then he also needs some electronic circuit to make them flash, a simple on/off switch like the RC-SM-2 won't be enough by itself.

One option would be to combine USM-RC-2 and SM-IR-16-2, which gives an additional 4 outputs that are meant for light effects and can be configured for rotating lights, flasher/strobe or running lights. Not a cheap solution though, especially if no sound functions are required.

Alternatively build a dedicated circuit for the flashing lights and switch it on/off via the USM by sacrificing one of the outputs (e.g. combine front and rear fog lights). Or use a RC-SM-2 instead on a separate receiver channel to switch the circuit on/off.

Here are a few examples for such circuits:

Simple left/right flash: The Astable Multivibrator
Double flash: Strobo-Doppelblitzer für Rettungsfahrzeuge (.ppt in German)
Triple flash: POLICE LIGHTS Circuit

Use super-bright LEDs for best effect.
