Hello
Quick question is it possible and safe to run an ESC signal wire from SM-IR-16-2 servo connection but power the ESC from a completely seperate power supply. Will this damage the board, just asking as I am planning to use ESCs to run the motors for legs and ramps on my lowloader trailer but want to use the SM-IR-16-2 to get the operating signal to them.
Cheers
Darren

Re: ESC on servo connection SM-IR-16-2
Hello,
yes, that's possible but note the following:
If the ESC does not have an internal BEC you can connect it directly to the servo output of the SM-IR-16-2.
But if the ESC has an internal BEC remove the red wire (plus) from the servo cable plug of the ESC and insulate it. Do not remove the black or brown wire (minus) from the plug.
The ESC will still be the supplied by the battery connected to the thick plus and minus cables but won't send any voltage to the SM-IR-16-2.
